The Hermitage and Tele2 are launching a “Cultural Exchange” for visitors to the General Staff building

Published 16 April 2024

Until 19 May 2024, Tele2 subscribers from any region in Russia will be able to exchange their accumulated minutes for an entry ticket to the General Staff building – one of Saint Petersburg’s best-known architectural monuments, which combines within it a unique historical space and a laboratory of new museum practices.

The displays in the General Staff include an extremely rich collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, as well as 20th- and 21st-century contemporary art. The building contains the Museum of the Russian Guards, a hall of works by the House of Fabergé and displays devoted to civil ministries of the Russian Empire.

During the special offer period, the temporary exhibitions “Beauty as Rhythm: Female Figures in the Collection of Traditional African Art”, “The Omani Empire: Asia and Africa”, “Contemporary Gemstone Carving” and “Nineteenth- and Twentieth-Century Tapestries in the Hermitage Collection” will be running in the General Staff, while on 28 April an exhibition will start in the Claude Monet Hall devoted to the 150th anniversary of the first Impressionist exhibition.

Under the terms of the offer, users can use the Tele2 phone app or the operator’s website to exchange accumulated minutes for an open-dated ticket, which allows the holder to visit the General Staff building on one of three consecutive days up until 5 July 2024. Details of how to use the promo codes are given on the Tele2 website.

For pensioners and families with three or more children from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, children under 18 and students of e3ducation institutions in the Russian Federation entry tickets to the General Staff building are free of charge. A full list of concessionary categories can be found on the Visit Us page of the museum website.
