Meeting of the Hermitage Friends’ Club on the exhibition "Russian Avant-Garde. Art for the New World".

On 16 March 2023, a special evening event for members of the Hermitage Friends' Club was held in the Manege of the Small Hermitage.

The meeting was dedicated to the large-scale exhibition "Russian Avant-Garde. Art for a New World," which runs at the Hermitage from 8 December 2022 until 26 March 2023.

The evening opened with a welcoming speech by Alexandra Davydova, head of the International Hermitage Friends' Club.

Then Veronika Gubina, lecturer at the Educational Department, gave a talk about the origins of the avant-garde in art and its role in design, Russian avant-garde artists, and the influence of their work on artistic culture up to the present day.

Following the lecture, the Friends were invited to view the exhibition in the Manege of the Small Hermitage with two specialists of the Educational Department who answered their questions.
