Published 24 September 2019

On 19 September 2019, the 2019/20 season in the Hermitage Friends’ Club opened.

The evening event entitled “Count Stroganov and Marquis Campana. A meeting with celebrated collectors” was devoted to an introduction to the temporary exhibitions “A Forgotten Russian Patron. The Collection of Count Pavel Sergeevich Stroganov” and “A Dream of Italy. The Marquis Campana Collection”.

The meeting began in the Jordan Gallery of the Winter Palace, with a welcome from Yekaterina Sirakanian, the Head of the State Hermitage’s Development Service, who congratulated the Friends on the opening of a new season and announced forthcoming exhibitions and Hermitage projects.

Then the entire company was invited to view the temporary exhibitions. The tours, guided by staff from the museum’s Department for Scientific and Educational Work, evoked very keen interest among the guests.

Those attending in the Hermitage that evening included one of the most venerable members of the Hermitage Friends’ Club, Inna Vasilyevna Yepifantseva, who will celebrate her 84th birthday on 28 September 2019. Inna Vasilyevna’s family have been members of the club for 15 years now and regularly attending the Friends’ meetings.

We invite anyone who would like to become a member of the Hermitage Friends’ Club, but had not yet done so, to join its ranks. This will give you too the opportunity to participate in gatherings of this kind.
